Abstract

Contactor is a controllable switch electrically actuated (electromagnetically controlled) intended for switching a power or control circuit and constitute most important item in electric control circuits.it resembles mostly o electrical relays but it is used in high current rating application.
A contactor is controlled via a ci‌r‌cu‌it which require a very lower energy requirement level ranges than the switched circuit
Contactor are made in different types and ratings , from the contactors operating with 24v DC which could be contained in one hand and con switch 6 amp rating circuits , up to contactor with rated voltage of multi kilo volts and currents of multi kilo amperes with widths more than one meter.

Unlike a (contrary to) a power circuit s‌w‌i‌t‌c‌‌h‌‌,‌(MCCB), contactor is not used to break the short – circuit current.
Contactors are utilized to control different electric louds including e‌l‌e‌c‌t‌r‌o‌m‌o‌to‌r‌s, capacitor banks.‌lighting circuit, electric heaters and other electrical equipment .contactor applications are in various industrial machines in witch for starting and controlling purpose are done by contactors.
E‌l‌e‌c‌t‌‌r‌ok‌‌a‌v‌eh contactors ranging from 6A to 400A with utilization category of AC3, and up to 500A with utilization category of AC1 and AC-5b  according to latest international standard of IEC 60947-4-1 and Iran national standard of Iran ISIRI 4834-4-1 produced and supplied to consumers
